3dvizual
Do you mean applying a vraylightmtl. on the object.? How do I give it glare in vray.? I am pretty new to vray, so there is still a lot to learn... :-)
Dave Buckley
yep, vraylightmaterial glare is easier in post, especially if you don't have vray 2. render out a self-illumination pass open the render in photoshop put the self-illum pass over the render put a gaussian blur on the self illum pass change the blending mode to screen reduce opacity to suit
3dvizual
OK. I use vray 2.0 But what you are saying, do you would always do this kind of job in in post...
Dave Buckley
Lens Effects in VRay 2 http://www.mattguetta.com/vraylenseffect-par-alfa-smyrna/ (you will need to translate this page) and apply the light material to the polygons that you want illuminated Whether I do it in post depends on whether its personal work/commercial work/how much time I have
avvid
Hi. Post may be the way to go, but if you want to try V-Ray 2's version: In the menu bar in 3ds Max: "Rendering" > "Effects..." > "Add..." select "VRay Lens Effects" > "OK". Make sure it's active and play with the settings. If you're not using Max, I'm sure it'll be something similar. There's a couple of workflow demonstrations on Youtube as well, but I've never had much success with it.
