Matt Sugden
With any highly reflective material a key factor of convincing results is the subject mater of the reflections themselves. Which might be why interior results look good but exterior results are not as convincing. Internally you will probably have a very convincing controlled environment for the reflection, externally however you may not depending on how your scene is set up? Perhaps try adjusting your environment and you should see wildly different results from your SS material.
M V
Bewdy is right. I would use a high res environment map or a photo of the site if you have one.
