izrut
Hi U 2 Kicks I've been experimenting different variations of control over the The Skylight...I've tried to put just Area Lights but the FG is not working well without max skylight...actually I did check out if vray tactik with area lights is working within the mental ray...but something isn't just right. Yes, I did use exposure control though I don't like it...I didn't have much time to spent on this siene.it was just a quick test and I couldn't afford many test so I just activated exp ctrl to hide some artifacts.... Personally I prefer to use the light enerjy in the siene - no exp ctrl p.s. Here is the siene if some one is interested in the settings...download
Harjeet Singh
Hi there, very nicley detailed model. the rendering looks dull but soothing. I feel the first image camera is a bit too high. good work! my regards
joske
yes loose the skylight, it will only slow down your rendering time (try a render with only the skylight to see what it acually does... you'll see not very much) loose the exposure control also it will smooth things out sometimes, but it will mess with the colours and contrasts of your scene the chairs for instance will have a much better 'wood feel' if you turn of the logaritmic exp control

abicalho
I will post the pictures I took today at home... Several shots of the same room with Daylight coming in and our Chinese Lamp on and off. I took them using exposures 8.0 to 2.8. None of them looked good because the Sunlight is simply way too much strong. It just showed me that I'd never ever use Daylight in a shot like that, I would use tricks (as I'd use in Photography) to reduce/adjust the sunlight to nicer results. I'd challenge you all to do this test too. I'll get the pics online tonight and post them here. My camera is currently in the tripod sitting at home because I want to make sure I take the same pictures at the end of the day (No sun), at night, and tomorrow morning (hoping to have some fog here). Sorry I didn't give you an answer, but I hope it helps, Alexander
