ndw2011
Hi, I have a client who is asking for a rendering in AutoCad to be made into a 3D model. The final thing he would want is that this model be able to be flown through by the person demonstrating it. I was wondering if there was some sort of plugin or extension or an easy way of doing this besides pretty much programming something entirely. Any thoughts or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
datacrasher
have you already import your model into max? if so then i would create a line going into the room(s) then add a camera then go to the motion tab click on the word position click on the question mark (assign controller) a box will open now double click on path constraint. now with the hand slider down until you see path parameters choose add path now click on the line. deselect the add path now check (tick) the follow under axis you can change the directon to the way the camera travels along the path (line) ooo make sure you have the p.view set to a camera view Edited November 14, 2011 by datacrasher

dande
Export your file from AutoCAD via FBX and then you can import it directly into the game engine Unity 3D which will allow you to walk through the scene using the mouse. or you can bring the model into max and import your max scene directly into Unity 3D. Unity 3D is free
