Ok I moving from 3ds max 2009 to 3ds max 2011x64.

I am working on a bungalow... and when I extrude faces of a wall or any editable poly objeccts... it will always starts from 1000mm++ . It happens for Bevel, Inset and any other tools. This is very irritating as most of the time i just need to extrude 20mm-100mm... And everytime I start using these tools... the whole model will be in a mess.. (imagine you want to extrude a few polygon on an apple... and it start extrude at 1000mm++... I will need to type in number manually, exp: 10mm) If I drag the arrow, which i usually did, It will move from 1000mm to 2000mm, 5000mm and down to -1000mm, -2000mm.

I am sorry I dont know how to explain it properly.. therefore also not too sure how to search for solution. I believe it has to do with scale?

Currently using:

Display unit setup: Metric = Milimeters

System Unit Setup: 1unit-1.0, Meters.

My file has already worked halfway... and if I change the unit in System unit setup now. . it will mess up the whole file scale... Please help! I can continue working on it. but it is really time consuming and annoying. I cant work properly like usal :(

Thanks a million!

I suggest to change the display units to meters, to match the system units, then those numbers you speak of will start at 1m; but I don't think you will be satisfied with this solution, so you could create a new file with system units set to millimeters, and display units set to millimeters also, and merge the objects from the file you are having problems with.

I hope this helps,

good luck
