mm-dga
Hi folks I have a viz. for today and the computer have been rendering all night. And for the first timer ever .. the image doesn't have an alpha channel! I am still in my vray framebuffer. So its not a saving problem. I could really need some help here. I use max 2011, vray 1.5 I have an hdri in my environment map and also as background ( I tried to remove tem but the problem is still there) What am I missing???? Stephen Thomas
You do have an alpha channel I'm sure, it just isn't looking as you expected. Could be a few things, are you using a dome light? And an obvious one, are you definitely looking at an area that is background and not obscured by objects or glazing?
mm-dga
well I am using a dome light (????) is there a problem with that?
Stephen Thomas
Unless the dome light is set to invisible it will affect the alpha channel. I don't think there is a way to change the alpha contribution of the dome light, so you need to set it to invisible then instance your background map to the environment slot.
