gustav_gans
hi guys! this is my first try on GI. the image should appear as computer generated with a touch of reality. the main problems are the glass texture and over all contrast of the image. all the C & C are highly appreciated. regards gustav by the way, i m using 3dsmax
Tom Hamelrijckx
Hi, it ain't that bad, though it looks weird the first time. I would say, the furniture on the inside seems a little bit self-iluminating. Why not aproach the whole as a miniature model? Put some lights on the inside (Marklin look-a-like) and use some DOF? Reduce the number of bounces as well and get more contrast that way on the sides of the building...
Harjeet Singh
good start, go ahead experimenting.
gustav_gans
thx for the tips! but sorry for the question: what is DOF? any hints about the glass?
IC
Depth Of Field. Where the main part of the object being viewed is in focus and the rest is blurred. Just like photography but much harder to get good results.
trhoads
The images look good. Is it intentional to have the walls and roof the same material. Also looks like the stairs might be hard to build, they seem a little thin. I actually like the glass, maybe just a small amount of relfection, but it does not seem like there is much to reflect with a white background. OVerall, I like them. IC, is it possible to adjust the DOF in VIZ? I will have to look into that. Could be fun to try.
Buffalo Bills
Travis, Yes you can use DOF in Viz. If you click on your camera and then go to the modify panel you will see the settings for DOF. I haven't tried it either, But if you could master it I'm sure it would look good. gustav_gans
@trhoads yes it is intentional to have all walls (outside and inside at the stairs) in the same material - looks really good in reality
