Ashleymatthews
Hello I will like to know if anyone knows of any tuts or any helpful info on how to model the bottom of a 2 liter bottle. I usually just use poly modeling but I was wondering if it will be best to do this with splines or nurbs? Thanks:)
datacrasher
i look for a bottle online then save it as a jpeg and upload it into my front view and use the spline line tool to trace around one-side of it and then throw on a lathe modifier and open the plus sign to the axis and move it to the size of the bottle image and change the normals if i need too Tony
Ashleymatthews
How will I get the feet for the bottom of the bottle? Also do I have to set the model up for real world scale before I model or is there a way to change it after I have modeled? Because I have modeled something that I should have been a specific height and width and was wondering if it is possible to change it now without having to start over. AubreyM
After you apply the lathe modifier and it's all good convert to an editable poly and then create the "feet". You could also keep the lathe flat on the bottom, crate the feet and join it. Change the units and then scale up or down. I almost always use real world scale.
