vray env fog noisy

Is it possible to smooth the noisy env fog without increasing the sudvis parameter?

 

I'm pressed for time and bumping the subdivs increases rendertime by 8x.

 

Thanks for any ideas.

The subdivs shouldn't increase the time that much. Try turning off the GI and instead use white color in emission. Then up the subdives.

Also, in Vray settings, check "Advanced athmospheric evaluation".

 

is it possible to render the fog out as a separate pass and then add a slight blur in photoshop?

 

Yes, try Vray Atmosphere pass.
