Z-Brush - is it good for us

I have played with it and it's fun a bit steep to learn and I didn't think of it as a modeling package. Maybe I am wrong but the application I saw it being used as was a sophisticated paint program with inherent 3d space properties & dynamics applied to the paint materials. That was a while ago so maybe it has changed.

Good thoughts!

I was wondering what we could do with it (useful stuff, I mean)... Maybe some organic sculptures? Or even some weird furniture? Some guys at the DTC I teach at are using it for character modeling, and I gotta tell you it's damn amazing! Also, the guy who won the Machineflesh contest from CGTalk was telling us how easy and fast it was to model his stuff with ZB and then importing it into max....

Anyway, I was maybe just excited about it...

Hi! just wanted to add my opinion:

I think Zbrush is a wonderful modeling tool. It can be useful for organic model but also for mechanical model. It just brings a new way to model. It provides really fast production flow when you master it.

So my opinion is that if you have lot of modeling work to do zbrush can be really useful.. but it also brings some troubles while you have to go back in your rendering tool.. however I see on the internet lots of people doing wonderful work with that so it's possible.
