slow rendering : hardware issue

I have a corei7 920 processors with 12 GB of ram. have 3 hard disk. mother board is 58SO. when I had bought my new i72600. compared to my both pcs. 2600 seamed 15% faster.

 

But now I discovered that my Old 920 does not render in an speed like before. so I compared day before yesterday again. its interesting. 2600 is rendering 75% faster than 920. So I now I think there is something wrong with my hardware.

 

Any Idea what could be wrong there?

how did you do the render test? Could it be that the slow one has to get all the data via LAN first and so is slowed down?

What kind of scene?

Do the others have the same amount of RAM?

 

Did you try Cinebench, to test the renderspeed?

I have not tried cine bench. I rendered the same scene individually. okay I am now thinking that my graphic card could be an issue. because as soon as I installed this card. my monitor does not show its full resolution. It has black area around. I installed everything but nothing worked. so currently I need to change that card and see the differences.

I will post here if it solves the problem.
