Jeff Mottle
Hey guys, What video driver are you using? I have a geForce 4400 Ti and when I rebuilt my system last week, installed the latest 61.77 Nvidia Driver. The problem is that I'm loosing my icons in max and getting odd artifacting. Also I typically run SZB as I find OGL to be too unstable.
Jeff Mottle
Hmm, not sure if this is a driver issue now. I seem to loose icons randomly when I switch from the default UI to the Discreet Dark (which I prefer). Odd. Never had this issue before
trhoads
Jeff, how do you switch to the Dark UI, I have seen others with screen shots like that, I can not see, to locate where to changes that. I kina like the darker setup.

radioVOY
if you formated your HD and reinstall all the software back check for the updates on windows and some software that need update too. i have a gforce TI 4800 cracked to a quadro 4 980xgl and when i formated my drive windows screw all my monitor config. make an update without the service pack 1 and everything works fine. hope this helps. JM Ataide
Hi Jeff. I'm running a Quadro 750 XGL, nVidia drivers v.61.40 and MAXtreme v.6.00.07. 3ds max 6.0. OS is Windows XP professional with latest updates. I tested dark UI without problems. Which driver are you using in 3ds max (open gl, directx, MAXtreme...)? Travis, to switch to the dark UI: Customize -> Customize user interface -> Colors -> Load

Very weird.
Jape
Think you'll find the problem is probably youre detonator drivers, dont know if you lose youre icons also in other programs/windows itself, but had a friend that loosed icons on his startbar, IE, outlook etc. Try other detonar drivers, preferably WHQL ones, arent the fastest but are the most stable ones, also make sure you're old drivers are completely gone by using detonator destroyer, it removes all info/data from last driver wich often causes problems. If you have dualhead card/setup check the settings for them (different rfrsh rates, first one 32bit second 16bit for example causes problems with icons) Alternativly, if you can, switch it for a good working vid card to check if its youre hardware (vid card memory???) that malfunctions, Though if you only experience this thing in max, it could very well be max thats causing te problem (restart after crash??, corrupted files maybe??)
