RobSteady
Studio/Institution: FreelancerGenre: Retail InteriorSoftware: 3ds Max, VRay, PhotoshopDescription: Trying to convert to 3ds Max from Rhino. Image was created only for practice (fur, cloth, floor generator) So please, don't be too harsh with your critics (what's going on with the preview image compression? Looks so ugly...) Janwalli
it´s simple, but very nice. Probably I would have chosen a different framing, as the upper part is really empty.
RobSteady
Thanks for your feedback. I cut off the top a little bit... Edited December 13, 2011 by RobSteady
matthewgriswold
Pretty good looking for "practice". My only suggestion, not even really a critique, is to try a warm orange/yellow light coming from the lamp. That would probably contrast nicely with the blue fabric/wall, and the light from the outside.
MD
Great lighting and I dig the blue on blue.
AubreyM
Really nice Bob! Love the colors, lighting and textures. If you modeled the sofa, nice job on that too.

krimson2580
can you tell us something about your vray settings?
RobSteady
I think it's very basic, nothing special to it. I don't have the file on this pc right now but I think i was: Irradiance Map (-5,-2 Hsph Subd 90, Samples 25) Light Cache (1800 Subd, Retrace Thresh) Adaptive DMC Soften 3 px Min. 3 Max. 6 (or was it 1/50?) Clr Thresh. 0,005 Reinhard Multiplier 1 Burn 0,25 Gamma 2,2 Very high Material Subdivs for the floor (I think 150). That was the only way I could clean them up. But rendertime wasn't that high (2 hours or so on i7 2600) Rest is default settings.
