erkutacar
first problem is the shadow casted by IES lights.. they cast unnatural and very crisp shadow.. i didnt play with any settings of the lights apart from intensity. they use ray traced shadows. and the soft shadow multiplier is 1. the second problem is the unknown shadow on the wall. there is object there to cast shadow and the light is coming from the opposite direction anyway.. so there shouldnt be any shadow there.. it didnt do the samething in iray. this is the mental ray render: here is the iray render: and the settings as follows: any ideas??? Justin Hunt
Use a photometric light and set "Emit light from shape" to rectangle and give it a size. For the second could be bad geometry, it's difficult to say. You settings seem OK except the FG bounces should be 0 when using Photons. jhv
erkutacar
its emitting from point atm but ill try urs.. for the second i dont think its about the geometry coz the door frame is the same level in x,y,z with the wall..

erkutacar
no its not overlapping.. its just plain wall.. plus it doesnt appear in night render nor iray render...

erkutacar
and the geometry problem in the daytime render is solved by itself.. i guess it was because of the fg bounces
