pwolf21
Can anyone offer some support to me to use the following software that I listed above so I can start creating photorealstic images. I work for a wood manufacture so i need to learn how to create wood grains and to adjust the reflection without affecting the image to much. I'm located in Southern Indiana and really need a couple of days to learn the in's and out's of a few things. I'm very comfortable using the software, it's just a matter of explaining a few more things that i'm not aware of yet. HELP ME.
anejo
For wood grains you may want to try vray-materials.de Another option for wood grain is creating it in photoshop.
pwolf21
I tried the wood textures but the wood grain looks bad because it repeats to much. I might have a 84" X 30" panel that i need to cover and look very good. I have created some wood textures but it doesn't have the try cathedral feel like feel veneer. Is there a sight somewhere that explains setting everything up to create that wow factor on a piece of furniture with wood grains. And being able to have the textures just blow everyone away? David Arbogast
If you really want the best wood textures, those are probably found at arroway-textures.com. They have everything you'll need to get the best results: 1. high quality large-scale textures, 2. bump and reflection maps to add to the vray bump and reflection map slots. Use the previously-mentioned vray-materials.de in this way: Find a wood material that has the general look and feel you're after (glossiness, etc), then just substitute the diffuse, reflection, and bump maps with the high quality texture map from arroway-textures.com (or other source). That way you'll have the reflective qualities you want along with the high-resolution texture map you want. In addition to Arroway, there are some pretty decent free wood texture maps on Trespa's web site. Hope this helps.
jcaddy
CGtextures.com and the wood floor generator script are your best friend.
Chris MacDonald
Arroway textures are without a doubt the best textures I've used - all of their wood series are absolutely second to none. http://www.arroway.de If however you still need to create more bespoke wood to suit your needs you really should look into bercon maps wood. http://www.ylilammi.com/BerconWood.shtml
