Hi Christopher. For the right recommendation it is good to know these three points (although, somehow, point 1+2 go together):

 

• In first place on the software you use (3ds max, Maya, Cinema 4D, ...).There are several generalists and some renderfarms specialized only in one service.
  
• In second place the render engine you prefer, as there are so many of them and even the biggest renderfarms only support some (usually the major ones).
  
• In third place the render power you think you will need for your project.
