Hi Guys,

I've been struggling with a render the whole night last night and it just left me with no answer. It's the bedroom scene. I never encountered this before.

Lots of splotchiness, even with high irr map settings, and those funny color tones on the walls. When I was working on the previous interior, the kitchen scene, a couple of days ago I noticed a weird, almost inverted shadow thing behind the coffee machine. Just in case you're wondering whether the render settings are to blame, please take a look at the scene with the hallway and stairs (ignore the awful carpet, I fixed it eventually :D Anyway...I used the same render settings, except for the hallway I used photometric lights, while on the other two scenes I had to use vray lights. Vray lights diffuse subdivisions 500, shadow subdivisions default. Do you have any idea what's been causing my last couple of scenes to behave like that?

Spent some more time on this today. I have upped the intensity of the lights, hoping I'd get some more significant bounces, but nothing. Te light cache looks very promising, so does the irr map, as you can see below, but when rendering the shadows are pitch black. If I saw this posted on a forum I'd recommend the poster to start learning about the notion of gamma and stop outputin gamma 1.0 jpegs. It lookes like a tweaked out gamma 1.0 jpeg, but it's not. It just comes of the rendered like that, even though the output is set to 2.2
