erickdt
Hi All, I've just begun lessing with VRay RT which so far has been pretty nifty. One thing I do notice is that I do not have my GPU available in the engine dialogue. It only says CPU and is grayed out. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! erickdt
Okay, I actually figured out how to be able to select openCL from the list. Now my problem is that whenever I try to render I get a windows error message that says "vray standalone has stopped working". Any help on this would be great. Thanks! AJLynn
What's the GPU and do you have the latest drivers, and did you check the Chaosgroup forum to see if you've got a known bug? There are still some things they're ironing out.
erickdt
Hi AJ, My GPU is the nVidia Quadro FX 3800 which I realize is an older GPU. I believe it's up to date with the latest drivers etc. It's probably been about a month since I last updated them. I haven't yet posted the issue on the chaos group board but I'll be sure to do that if nothing turns up here. It actually works really well while running through the CPU. I'm just wondering if there will be any speed advantage using the GPU instead. E
