3D World VS 3D Artist?

Hi Guys,

 

Just chasing some opinions on which is a better magazine for me to subscribe to, I mostly work in 3ds max doing Arch Viz, but in my spare time I like to model kooky little characters etc as well as play around with Realflow, Fume FX etc.

 

and advice would be much appreciated

They're both great but you can almost always find the content that is inside of these magazines somewhere on forums, news items online, etc....it's all recycled content unless you really want the discs that they come with. I had 3D world for a while and didn't subscribe again because of this reason.

Both magazines are very limited in articles based on Arch Viz. You might get an article or short tutorial here and there, but that's about it.

When 3D Artist was launched it printed many pages to the Arch Vis industry and had very good interviews with major 3d Arch Vis companies. I would think these days 3D Artist just edges it for Arch Vis, but not much in it these days.

I agree, not much to be obtained from those magazines, but you never know, something may pop up and in general you can still get some good influence from it.

if you have an ipad (not sure if you can do this online) but you can preview the entire magazine, issue by issue, using newsstand. It's only a small preview (not big enough to read the small print) but you can still see how much arch viz content there is before making the purchase
