Patric Verstraete
Hey all, I have a problem with Vray LC, after calculating the LC, when Vray started to building up the passes, I have this very strange image on my screen?! see attachment When I tried with a region render, then everything is ok? Also tried to merge the scene, with the same result. The strange thing is that when I render an other scene, then I have no problems! Have anyone experienced this ? I am just impatient, I need to finish this project on the end of this week! Corey Beaulieu
I don't think that the problem is your Light Cache as this pass looks fine. It would most likely be a problem in your Irradiance Map settings. can you post a screen grab? Maybe "Show Samples" is checked or something, but its likely a bigger issue. Patric Verstraete
Thanks Corey, here are my settings http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/4031/rendersettings.jpg
Corey Beaulieu
Patric, so other than your computer being way more buff than mine, the only real "issue" is your color mapping. Mostly I say this because it is so different than my usual setup, but it's a place to start.... Most everything else looks in order. With Reihard color mapping a value of 0.1 is almost exactly the same as exponential so you could really just use that. Also this style doesn't clip over bright color, which could be the issue. On top of this, a clamp value of 2.0 won't clip over bright colors. Really the only other thing you could try in the settings is the default sample size under light cache (0.02) and lower your number of passes to 8. It will help to reduce some light noise if nothing else. If none of this works I would say it most likely would be a light in the scene or something. If not I just don't know what to say. Scale can sometimes be an issue on the render end, but really the light cache would have failed if that were the case. I hope this helps. Part of me was hoping for a glaring oversight on your part but I'm just not seeing one myself.
Ismael
http://forums.cgarchitect.com/69719-vray-lc-problems.html Did you not say that you always render with a Vray Physical Camera? Your settings are still showing Perspective... Did it not work with Vray camera?
subburb
can be an reflective GI or raytrace material somewhere... can you try a material override with a simple Vray mat to see if it's material related or other problem ?
Patric Verstraete
Thanks for your answer Jerome, I already tried it with a Vray mat override, came out without any problems.
Corey Beaulieu
And?... Any new developments today? Were you able to solve the issue?
Patric Verstraete
Thanks for your concern Corey, to be honest, it's like a ghost in that scene!! Yesterday evening I switched the Vray camera to another angle, and it works!! Is it possible there is a bug in that camera??? Should be a bug in all the camera's, anyway, I managed to save the LC - IR map, so I can continue to finish that scene. Thanks!
