acjwalker
Hi People, For some reason my 3ds max us playing up. I Use the slate material editor and for some reason it will not previe my materials, it just shows the teapot. If I right click and update it appears, but I have to do this on every change. In the old material editor I have no problems, it comes up in the slot and updates when I change anything fine. Can anyone help me? I have attached what I see. Cheers
Corey Beaulieu
If you are using 2012, welcome to the new and not at all improved slate editor. It's slower and much harder to get along with than the 2011 slate editor. I love slate, but have been dissappointed with the 2012 verision. I think the viewport enhancements kill its power. If you hide your geometry it usually responds a lot better. But still, double check that the teapot image in the bottom left of the editor window is selected. this is what generates the auto update on materials. salvador
Ahhhhh! Stupid little teapot !!! I've been going crazy from time to time because of no previews, no updates etc. Not clearly stated that the little teapot can take over !!! Thanks Corey ! Your info will make my work less painful. he he he
salvador
Ok. Now that it's working. Is there a way to make libraries preview icons render faster? Thanks.
