illusioncreative
Hi guys, I'm currently in the process of producing a visual which I'm doing both a night and day shot for. It's still in the early stages but I'm trying to get the lighting in the pool right. I've attached the image as it is and an example of how I want it to (or think it should) look. I currently have a plane with a fairly typical water material attached to it with some lights shining underneath. Clearly that's not doing the trick... Any advice you can give me on how I go about achieving the effect I'm looking for would be very much appreciated. Cheers, Jamie
Devin Johnston
The light needs to be illuminating the bottom of the pool along with the water, I don't see any lights in the water so you may have an issue with it not being transparent enough. Boris Horosavin
For effect you want to achieve you can try to use translucency, which means that water needs to have a full mass (not just plane on top simulating water surface.). Also, watch out for IOR. Cheers.
