360 camera?

I was just wondering, what is the best way to produce panoramic-like renders, you know, like with camera that would capture entire FOW? I know that the limitation for standard cam, for obvious reasons, is 175 degrees, there is Vray Dome camera, but is not suitable for this but, above all, perspective distortions are ridiculous. Is it easiest to just do it like you would do it with standard photography (blend together several shots in post, circling camera around its axe) or maybe there's some automatic software solution to this?

...but now I have another question. Is there a tool similar to Panorama exporter but which would work in opposite direction? Meaning, instead of camera circling around its axe it would circle around its target focused on a specific object (sort of object inspection camera). Please, if anyone has an idea I would appreciate it, I really hate using Quest 3D for this stuff, it's way too complex for me.

Thanks Ismael,

I know of path constraining, its a good tool and I use it from time to time. But I was thinking of something else: Is there a way to upgrade this tool to work on render result level. In other words, is there a way to create an interactive animation/render to turn around object and observe it from all angles (not from viewport but as independent video or flash file), similar to Quick time videos you can create with Panorama exporter. Thanks.

Regarding first question..I`m simply doing FOV override to 360 deg. with spherical type of camera (render setup/Vray/camera). It has to be in 2:1 aspect (4000:2000 for exm.). Then you import that spherical render in EasyPano Tourweaver software...inside this software you can constrain the movement both horizontal and vertical. Maybe this is not an answer to your question because this is interactive panorama...you`re probably looking for static render, no?...anyway..:)
