danb4026
I just built 4 new computers to run as render nodes. I have set up backburner on all of the machines and have also told backburner to use all servers. Problem is it only seems to want to use one of the servers. The others just sat "registration to ***.***.*.* accepted. On the backburner Monitor, it shows the non working machines as idle. Also, I cannot see the render frame buffer anywhere, but when it says its complete, I can find the finished jpg in the output folder. I really really like to see my frame buffer. Any advice for these issues? PS...I believe I have all of the plugins installed on all of the machines.
BrianKitts
shutdown server then try deleting the .xml file out of c:\users\YourUserName\AppData\Backburner\backburner.xml you'll need to rekey in your manager location when you restart server. (backburner rebuilds the xml and resets itself)

Mario De Achadinha
Hi Daniel Is there not an option before you send out the working file to the render nodes to show or hide render frame?
erickdt
Hi Dan, If BB Server is running as a service you won't see the rendered frame window. If it's been manually started a 3DS Max "dummy" window should appear on the server screen but it typically minimizes itself. You should be able to maximize it though. Hope that helps! Gary Ledgerwood
I am having the same issue. Backburner wont use my slave pc. It says "idle" while my host machine says "busy". If I cancel the render process on my host machine, it starts working on the slave. What am I doing wrong here? Oh and the render frame shows up on my taskbar but when I try to maximize it, it keeps minimizing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've never had that happen before. May I ask what your "General Settings" are set at for the backburner "server"? Have you manually typed the Server Name and the Subnet Mask? If you set that to Automatic Search, sometimes that can solve the issue with the server being found in Backburner. Maybe there's a "priority" issue also when you send the render from Backburner to 3DS Max? Adam
Gary Ledgerwood
Thank you for the reply Adam. I think I figured out my issue. I am admittedly new to Backburner and didn't realize that when rendering a single frame, you have to choose a specific setting to allow both pc's to contribute. I can't remember what the checkbox was called as I am home now. I think I got it to work, but I received errors about photons and the image exposure was pretty blown out. I will post more specific errors tomorrow when I get in. Thanks again for responding.
