CEJ1976
Hi, I have rendered a couple of minutes of animation and edited together. At the time the project was too fast and too tight a deadline to render or comp any additional passes. However, I would like to revisit the project now and re-render some passes. Without re-rendering the base renders, does anyone know how i mighht render a DOF pass? I am using vray physical cameras throughout? thanks. nielspedersen
Well i thoght i had a solution, but in future work, try render out .rpf file format there you have the option to have alot of information imbeded in the file but i can't figure out a way just to get the z depth without rerender. If you don't find another solution, then maybe lower the render quality (not the resolution) and then render as rpf sequence.
Tommy L
Go to Global Settings in the vray panel. Turn off everything and Instance a generic material into the material override. Then choose whatever passes you need in the render elements tab. Render using the Frame Buffer output and it will render your frames in about a second each. If you dont check the 'save RGB channel' then you'll not save a bunch of redundant black frames. Oh, make sure you turn off GI also.
