mr.t
I am new to all this so please bear with me. I need to visualize a new build for a friend of mine and i'm not sure of the best lighting set up to use (Exterior). I have been using max for 10 years so i'm quite familiar with all the features, however i only use mental ray as I've not taken the time to learn Vray! Can anybody supply me with a scene template they use to give me a head start. Any other tips would be useful. Attached is an example. Cheers
Umesh Raut
Looks fairly good. If you want to, you may check 3dats for many many useful tips n tricks, plus there are quite a few online resources for GI in daylight exterior renders. Google (apart from CGA, of course ) is your friend, mate.
Scott Schroeder
Why not use Mental Ray? If you know it, use it. You really don't want to learn new things while on a job, if this is a paying job. Just use the MR Sky/Sun and have at it.
Justin Hunt
Its a good start, straight off I'd suggest moving the sun to the left so the front of the building is light and the side is in shadow and second I'd drop the exposure control mid tones down (say 0.8). These changes would add good depth to the lighting and help separate the front building front the back one. jhv
