Dan J
This is probably a old question, but I'm not seeing the answer while searching old threads. The new system I purchased has W 7 home premium installed and I have older apps that are 32 bit. I've installed Max 9 (yes, not enough funds to upgrade at the moment) and though it installs, it errors at open and won't launch. Is there a work around, do I need to run dual OS's (xp) or other options? Thanks for the feedback.
AubreyM
You may have to run it in compatibility mode under win7.
Dan J
That did it. I get a failed to init error for a DLL - \Dxplugins\DxDDS.bmi - error code 998- invalid mem access, but program seems to load fine otherwise. Thanks for the quick reply! Slinger
Right click on the installer, select Properties, go to the Compatibility Tab, Select to run as compatible with Windows XP, OK. Then try to run it again. If that does not work, you may need to run a virtual machine with XP installed[/url] on it (within Windows 7), but they do list as 'XP or later' online so this should work. The problem only comes if the 32bit program uses an antique 16bit installer, after that the 32bit program should be fine.
