I want ask about the opacity maping... for ex. if I am applying an opacity of grill it shows only the front and backside faces..in between the thicknes is void... Can you explain anybody Y? it is? Chris MacDonald Posted March 13, 2012 Share Posted March 13, 2012 Opacity mapping doesn't affect the geometry - for this you would need a volume solid shader such as the one in final render. All it is doing is telling the renderer that on this surface where the opacity map is black, the surface is transparent. Thats it. So where 3d shapes are involved like a box all it knows is that the surface of the box has holes, but has no idea or information about thickness of box or what happens insde the volume.
