Hi Nisus,

 

I looked at your file and I do not know what's going on with it. I would try to play more with it, hiding objects to see if a specific object or group is causing the problem. But unfortunately I'm pretty busy right now, so I cannot help you much.

I got the same grainy artefacts with Mental ray especially with the shadows.

tried to solve it by cranking up the FG samples into thousands with no avail. The file was loaded from the internet. As far as i remember, I got a system scale of 1=1" compared to the file which is 1=1m. Thus I rescale the whole scene into my System unit scale and happily I'm back in business.

 

I also remember rendering a scene leaving buckets into my image and solved it by reducing the Min./Max values in the FG's. We would really appreciate it if you post the Settings.....and your solutions too!

Hi jucaro,

 

I didn't try the stripe-rendering on that image because I didn't knew it was possible at that time...

Anyway, I've tried it now (on another image) and it works fine with MR !
