I spend about £4 hundred pound Are you gonna rebuild a new computer or are you gonna buy one new? dmv79 Posted March 22, 2012 Share Posted March 22, 2012 I never spend money on "state-of-the-art-top-notch-pro-stuff". To much money that loses to much value in a short period of time. And it'll probably be out of date just as the available technology at the time of purchase. I also keep in mind how will I use the equipment as I aquire new ones... For instance I've got machines with NVIDIA GTX series, with QUADRO series and ATI radeon HD series as well. I really don't see much diference in performance. When GPU computing comes into consideration, I would look for the one that better matches the software. In short, get the more cores / threads you can and the same for RAM. For video cards, go for something good enough to play "heavy" games. I would also recomend considering a fast HD. If you know what you're doing, consider RAID setup.
