philipnoland
I have searched for this issue and still cannot find it. Also, this is my first post so, hello all! This is a great site! I am using 3dsMax and Vray 2.20.xx Each and everytime I start up Max and open the material editor, my material slots appear blank until I click on each one. (no matter if I have initiated the Vray license or not. It's really annoying and I hope someone here has info on this. It shouldn't be like this but I have not a clue. Thanks for the help. philipnoland
Well, that my friend , is unknown. I have a NVIDIA Quadra FX 3600. Not sure if this is good GPU but should be decent. OR should I say I don't know if this GPU is good with Vray and Max. I have been piecing my system together for a while now. With that said, where should I check to see if I have the right settings. I have done some playing around with the preferences but honestly have no idea what I am doing in there. Somethings about thread optimization? I am sure it has something to do with it. And for all I know I completely messed it up when I was tinkering. Any references would be appreciated or a decent clue as to where I could find some more info on this and get the right settings. thanks
datacrasher
Go to customization preferences viewport display drivers make sure you have the correct ones set it not then click on choose drivers make sure you're dot is in the Direct X 9.0 direct 3d hardware dot should be hardware. make sure you have the dot in the direct3d hardware release. Then click ok max will ask you to close it down and reopen you're max under you're currant installation drivers it should say "NVIDIA Quadra FX 3600"? once you have resetted max try it again see if you still have a problem? if so i would contact you're support team where you brought max from Edited March 22, 2012 by datacrasher
