M V
Upon recently finding out that Alex Roman has left Arch Viz, I began to wonder... There are a few of the arch/viz 'cowboys' and by that I mean the pioneers from the earlier days of CG Architect and V-Ray beta, etc. that are no longer around, well at least on this site. One example is Ernest Burden. He was and continues to be a true source of inspiration for me and he gives excellent advice on this site. Just wish I saw more of him. Are we losing some of the great visualizers because of the economy, saturation of the market, low pay scales, out sourcing frustrations? Are they moving on to bigger and better things? If so, what? Jonathan Sanchez
good question.. given it's so relatively new, our industry has undergone immense change during the last decade. Some artist have moved on to bigger and better things, others have remained steady. I try to picture where I'll be in 10, 20 years and I honestly don't now. Right now it's going quite well for me, but our field is soo dynamic.
Justin Hunt
This is still a relativity young industry, as such evolves very quickly. It's what keeps it interesting for me. If I look back 15 years ago, when I started I, a lot of things we could only dream about are now main stream. So take what you dream about today and work towards making it a reality tomorrow. This is a user driven industry, so drive it. The economy has been a good thing in some ways, its cut some dead wood out, given more free time to persue personal projects and forced us to inovate. There has also been a steady stream of new and young people entering the field, which is keeping us oldies on our toes :-) Jhv Edited March 23, 2012 by Justin Hunt spelling
