Corey Beaulieu
I don't know, but a couple of things to check would be: In your Gamma/Lut setting that you tick the "Affect Material Editor" box In Vray Settings Tick "Affect Background" Lastly you can try adjust the "Output" on your map to something more, like 3 or 5 or whatever it takes. Are you setting the map to environment and spherical? There are a lot of things it could be, all are simple, but in what context is it dark? Rendered? Viewport? Both? Good Luck. Tommy L
You'd be better off compositing the background in post. Leave the vray sky as it will cast light and reflections. Save out to a format that carries an alpha channel, such as targa or tiff, then put your jpeg behind your geometry in photoshop. An environment is only going to be beneficial if it's a spherical map. You can do a horrible fake by wrapping a jpg background around your scene and tiling it, but the 8 bit image will give dull reflections. The reason you are not seeing the jpg is due to exposure. Are you using a physical camera?
