Interesting ways to showcase projects

Hey guys -

 

Been a minute since I've browsed the forums, as I no longer render in this industry anymore (not enough biz). My question pertains to current walkthrough or 360 viewer types of technology that exists now. When I last was rendering, we rendered out QTVR's and gave them to the client so they could interactively view the 360 images in a fixed position. Around the same time, Bentley was developing 3D PDFs as well - but it was unique to Bentley. What are the new mediums to share this type of thing with clients these days? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I will piggyback on Juraj's post and say that augmented reality seems to have a lot of promise(YouTube "sightspace" or "AR-Media "). I have only looked at Lumion but can say that Twinmotion is another pretty cool self paced walk through program.

From my understanding Unity is far more powerful than dedicated arch vis realtime solutions. You have the ability to bake materials and lighting = control and the gui can be designed and controlled within. Alot of researchers are choosing Unity to develop new ways of interacting with 3D content which I think says something.

Unity is far less user-friendly than programs I mentioned (on other hand, Unity is much easier for scripting, but I don't think that's what architects look for :- ).... ) Every program has the ability to bake lightning, only Tearte showcased such a nice way of importing whole scene baked into Unity (which is great for static architectural scene, where you won't move anything)

Juraj, yes its a great example of Max/Unity working together, it's what first turned me on to it's potential! As a visualisation artist Unity has more potential. Simliar to the 3DS Max - SketchUp comparison, Unity offers more but comes at a cost of a higher learning curve.

Maybe someone is interested in Quest3D. It has real time rendering capabilities that are awesome but it's demanding, requires a lot of programming.

Quest3D demo Inuyama Castle which is amazing is not downloadable from their website anymore but it can be found in other places.

Lumion is already running off Quest3D engine and is made directly for architects. Original Quest3D....the worst choice for single guy or even smaller teams.
