I am still playing with lighting and textures and I would appreciate any feedback that can be provided. The scene takes place in the Arizona desert and I am currently using the Daylight System. I am also using portal lights in the scene and all the textures are Arch and Design. Kirt

Corey Beaulieu
I think its looking good, especially if you are new to this all. A couple of thangs that jump out at me right away are that the relections are flat light and no image. Try either adding your background to the image reflections in post or better use the map in the render as a reflection override. The second is thing is the camera. I can't quite make out wha the issue ism but is seem too high and like you are looking down. This is making the room look like it is leaning or something and that you corrected it with a modifier. The modifier is a good thing, but do it on a more human camera. The last thing would be to add more furniture. No one has piano in an empty room of the house (or really shouldn't anyway) so give us a hint of more to the room on the right or a sideboard on the left. Maybe both. The second post is much better than the first EV-wise.
kirthaymore
Hi Corey, Thank you for your feedback and your kind words! I see what you are saying with the reflections, camera angle, and the furniture. The room is actually large and the ceiling is at an angle. This may be causing some of the camera awkwardness. I rendered out the kitchen portion last night and I will render a image that includes more of the room tonight. From the image below, the piano is located to the left of the camera. aaronmolina
Hey, Kirt. I like the second image you posted and I agree with everything Corey said. I might add that the cushion on the piano seat seams a little hard and uncomfortable. Maybe try to add some indents (or some fluff). A good tool are the push/pull tool which is near the bottom of the edit poly function and the FFD's in the modifier stack.
kirthaymore
Hey Aaron, Thanks for the feedback and thank you for the insight on the push/pull tool. That was one that I was not aware of and it works great!
