New York City 3d Studio Max EVENT....May 15, 2012

Recommended Posts

Hello 3dsmax artists, for those of you who attended our April 24th event, thanks for helping make it a night to remember. Today we are announcing the next event on Tuesday May 15th 2012 with Eat-n-Greet at 7pm and the event start at 7:30pm. This May event will also be held at the Manhattan Autodesk office space located at 38 West 21st Street on the 9th Floor, New York NY 10011.

You must RSVP at http://www.nyc3d.org/3dwp/meeting-annoucements/ to attend and if you have not attended one of our events since Feb 2012, you must also fill out our registration survey online prior to arriving. The link for this survey is located on the same page as the link above.

The Highlights of the May 15th 2012 event include:

Learning Presentation: Kim Lee will be presenting a collection of tools and techniques both new and old that many artists may not be aware of. This collection will cover everything from modeling to animation and will form the basis of the soon to be launched “New York Minutes” feature on the group website.

Feature Presentation: Edmund Earle of Edgeworx Studios, LLC. will be presenting a behind the scenes look at the creation of the CGI sequences for the 2 hour HISTORY special, Titanic at 100: Mystery Solved. To deliver this volume of CG sequences on a TV schedule and budget, Edmund employed various time saving workflows, often using tools in 3dsmax that may be neglected or overlooked by today’s artists.

Refreshments will be provided.

A special thank you to our sponsors:

Autodesk for providing space for us to play.

Great Eastern Tech for keeping us fed and hydrated.

PNY for providing the graphics cards

Rain Computers for providing the horsepower for all our demos and presentations.

RSVP now and we look forward to seeing you in two weeks.
