johnnycastle Posted May 8, 2012 Share Posted May 8, 2012 I have 3DS MAX 7 (I think) Anyway, I used to somehow turn a black and white image (a jpg or bmp of a logo for instance) into a 3d image! I DIDNT TRACE, I somehow did it automatically! Anyway, I cant do it any longer cause Ive forgotten how! Can anyone tell me how this is done? Thank you. The Dollus guy explained you how to do it, use Displacement modifier (if there was one in Max 7, I remember using it in 8). Devin Johnston Posted May 9, 2012 Share Posted May 9, 2012 It's called bump mapping or displacement mapping both of them use a black & white image to give a 2d image depth.
