M V
This is exactly why I started this thread. I would like to have most of renders done overnight and cook them at 5k or higher resolution. I do think the details look better at higher resolutions. But most of the time there are changes and they happen last minute so I have to plan for a re-render with little time to wait. The other reason I am asking this is because I wonder if folks really are ok with waiting 40+ hours for a unbiased rendering to cook clean. Now that RT has become so popular, I am surprised more folks aren't saying that they dont want to wait at all - they want instant results. I would think you will hear clients demand this in the near future.

You still have to wait for it to get clean solutions. Unless you have a client that is willing to add into the budget a $4,000 Quadro 6000 video card. But anything we've got in our machines, you'll still have to wait for the Vray RT/Iray solution to clean up. Jeff Patton toying with Iray, about 15-20 min for a higher res exterior scene. And he's got one bulky ass video card. http://jeffpatton.net/2011/07/iray-for-exteriors-update/
Nic H
RT is pretty shit tbh ill never use it on a proper scene - too slow and limited by expensive GPU
