Vendetta
Well, I'm new here and I'm not quite sure how everything works. I'm pretty much looking for some guidance. I've been trying to get into architecture and have sort of been scared away. There are a lot of good people out there and I don't know my value. The attatchments I've added is the quality of work I can do, I have my own site but I'm not here to advertise myself, merely trying to get a push. Can anyone recommend any freelance or on-site projects? A place to start? Thnx for the help, any advice/suggestions or tips are much appreciated. Vendetta
You have helped me!! Thank you for the link, I didn't know about it. There are quite a few sites on there that will be very useful, thank you! I do have a question though, what is "bidding"? Some of the Freelance site require bidding on a certain project, who ever wins the bid, wins working on the project?
RyderSK
Haha yes, but it sounds like joke to me when I first saw that :- ). That's miserable way to get freelancer. You basicaly get the cheapest, and you can expect according results.
Vendetta
I didn't want to be disrespectful at first because I wasn't quite sure of the rules engaging the "bidding" aspect. It seemed rather silly to me, everyone fighting to be cheaper and cheaper until the employer picks the cheapest. Shouldn't it be based on Portfolio? On what the person can do rather than bidding... Juraj, those are some amazing ...photos? They look very real, any tutorials you can point me towards, I'm mainly asking for cloth simulations in your work. Did you use Garment Maker for your bed? Scott Schroeder
99.99% of the time money beats quality. Speed beats quality, but just barely loses to money. There's a well known project triangle that consists of three sides. Price, Speed, Quality. Trouble is, you can only pick two. Living in Canada, like us in the US, we lose out all of the time to "low expense market" freelancers. Many times on freelance sites like Guru or Elance, right there in the project pitch it will say low cost markets only. Meaning, not the US/UK/Canada/etc. It's sad, but it's the dark underbelly of the industry. Our crime alley as you would call it, where the Joker kills our parents. My advice is to stay away from ultra competitive freelance websites and strike out on your own. Find local markets to work in.

Hello Mihai, thanks for compliment :- ). Though I rarely have the time for this, we had few occasions to play with Marvelous Designer, which is just awesome cloth simulator, intended for fashion market. But works damn well for furniture too :- )
