Sketchrender
Hi Simple question. I use 2D images a lot to model off for speed. I generally set them to the correct scale make them semi transparent, and ref them back in as that way they can't be moved and it is easy to model over them. So my question is: Is there a way of swapping between the Ref image and the model file you are working on? If I need to move or make a change to the ref file I have to save what I am working on and open the Ref file and make the changes and then go back in to the model file. So is there an easier way. Help and advise very much appreciated. Phil
RyderSK
I would be interested to know too, but I just open additional Max, do changes, then update in other Max instance.
Corey Beaulieu
Why not just just keep the reference objects in your main file and lock the transforms? Under the Hierarchy tab go to "Link Info" and tick the move, rotate, and scale boxes for all x, y, and z. You won't be able to move or rotate or scale the object, but you will still have access to and be able to edit in sub object mode.
