Hi ... Everyone

Am having a problem with a Scene in VRay ..

I've changed my Gamma settings as per a tutorial and my Colormapping is set to 'Reinhard' with a Gamma of 1.6 ..

The problem is that .. when i try to export it from MAX to PS ... The image seems pretty dark .. As if Gamma is set 1.00

Please Help ..

Thanks in advance

personally I save out all images with the gamma setting from max set to 1.0 output, only because if you set this at 2.2 output in max you don't have room to move in post as the gamma is already burnt into the image.when importing into photoshop or AE, you can use the SRGB profile that comes with the image. ( need to change your preferences in photoshop so it will know to ask you first before opening the file)

It is not the gamma settings that limit you in post, it is rendering to an 8-bit file format rather than a 16 or 32-bit format. The correct way to set up the gamma preferences is an output of 2.2 for 8-bit and 1.0 for 32-bit. I only recommended setting the output to 2.2 because the images posted were jpegs.

Thank you all for your replies ...

I usually export rendered image as TIFF or PNG .. and they were in 16 or 32bit

the 'output' value was 2.2 ... i changed it to 1.00 because i saw it in a tutorial and also setting the gamma in 'Reinhard' to 2.2 ....

and BTW i didnt use VRay VFB to render ..

This is the Link to tutorial ... Please check
