henrycross
Hi all, I've been asked to produce an animation of a kinetic façade: Here's a demo I've produced: The problem I'm having is that I need to show the wind causing a ripple effect through the panels. My approach has been to animate a row using a force (wind) and have 10 variants of this and then randomally position them. I was wondering if any one know a better approach of animating them as a whole? Below is a Yousendit link to a small section of the facade. If anyone knows a better a approach. I'd really appreciate some advice on this...cheers Henry https://www.yousendit.com/dl?phi_action=app/orchestrateDownload&rurl=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.yousendit.com%252Ftransfer.php%253Faction%253Dbatch_download%2526send_id%253D1549465205%2526email%253Deee229d768dab50423359a34a7c55e3b&s=19104&cid=tx-02002207350200000000 Edited June 9, 2012 by henrycross
jsf
Henry, The effect you are trying to achieve can be accomplished using MassFX in the Max 2013. If you PM me I can send you the .max file I worked up, and a sample animation.
Stephen Thomas
I love these Ned Kahn style facades Having watched the video again it struck me that you could maybe use a video clip of some moving clouds mapped to the facade to drive the movement.
