GTX580 - can't find one!

I've been looking and researching what card to get for my machine for a few weeks now and finally came to the conclusion that the GTX580 3G was the one to get. BUT I can't find one anywhere in Australia. I've exhausted all avenues I can think of.

 

I wanted to use it for VRay RT rendering at home while working on personal projects as the work I do at work is pretty boring Arch Vis stuff and I'm trying to build my portfolio for the future.

 

From what I can gather the 580 was the last of the cards that didn't split the memory. My projects are only ever going to be (x)size but how do I know if (x) will fit in the 1.5-2GB the 590-680's offer?

 

Any help of suggestions welcome

Have you tryed pc case gear or mwave?

Yeah PC Case has none and mwave only have the 1.5BG version. I spoke to a few shops online and they said since it's not being made anymore it's pretty much impossible to get one.

I am always on xtremesystems and evga's forums here in the USA and they are always up for sale.

Hell, there is a guy on the eVGA forums selling (4) GTX580 Classifieds for $400/each

I just ordered one, the lucky last one the AU distributor had.

If I feel the need for two I'll check out the forums like sugested.

The 4GB kepler series are out in both 670 and 680 versions, but availability is ultra-low, and those stores that do have them in stock tend to over-price them considerably for the last month or so.
