sdssaf
Hey all! I´m just asking myself, if its possible, that i change the output resolution while rendering? like i started the render with 1500x800, but while he is at sample level 8 i want to change it to 2500x... pixels. is that possible? and also for the region selection and blowup. can i tell him for example, to render all the image, but make one region before everything else to have a sample and then continue with the rest while he is rendering? i have maxwell 2.5 thanks in advance! ben

No, sorry, this is not possible. but make one region before everything else This is also not possible, Maxwell can do a region render, but cannot prioritize a region within a full view. For a sample render just do a region render and once you're happy, do a full view. The best way to save time on tests is to just do renders of the full view, but at a small resolution, and turn off anything under Simulens. Remember that Maxwell calculates the entire scene no matter what. Even if you're only rendering a region, it still has to factor how the objects/lights OUTSIDE the region will impact the objects INSIDE the region. Time savings aren't worth it, IMHO. sdssaf
k, thx for the answer! did it like that up to know, but to see if texture is really good visible sometimes the blowup is very nice. i could to it also with fire in sketchup, but for some reason it acts really slow and wont really give me a result where i can see something clear. guess my buildings are just too much for him... and i raise another question: if i tell him to stop at sl 15, does it change anything in quality than when i tell him sl 25 and stop him manually at 15? thanks in advance again! matthewspencer
i could to it also with fire in sketchup, but for some reason it acts really slow FIRE is actually a completely different render engine; it is faster at the beginning, but SLOWER than the normal maxwell renderer, as time goes longer. if i tell him to stop at sl 15, does it change anything in quality than when i tell him sl 25 and stop him manually at 15? Maxwell's "progressive rendering" means it only thinks about rendering as "GO" or "STOP." It keeps rendering at full power until you say stop. It doesn't change its quality or effort if you instruct it SL 15 or SL 200; if you stop it at SL 15, it will be identical. This sort of progressive calculation is the reason that it's possible to resume stopped renders.
