anthony cortez
Event will also be held at the Manhattan Autodesk office space located at 38 West 21st Street on the 9th Floor, New York NY 10011. You must RSVP to attend and if you have not attended one of our events since Feb 2012, you must also fill out our registration survey online prior to arriving. The Highlights of the July 12th 2012 event: The focus on this next event will be on the use of 3ds max in Architectural and Visualization applications. Learning Presentation: We've gotten numerous requests to do something with Unity3d, which us a fully integrated development engine used for the creation of interactive 3D content. Nicole Washington from ARUP will be showing attendees how to go through the process of taking a scene created in 3ds Max and bringing it into the Unity3d engine to create a basic interactive walkthrough. Feature Presentation: In keeping with our Arch/Vis theme and considering of course that we are NYC based, we are very pleased to have the guys from PIRANHA as our feature presenters this month. PIRANHA was commissioned by Silverstein Properties to create a short film depicting the completion of The New World Trade Center site. Piranha wrote, produced, art directed, filmed, and finished all vfx for this inspiring piece marking the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. It is on display permanently at the marketing center of Tower 7. Topics discussed will range from tracking and compositing of the helicopter footage, lighting techniques, render passes, the use of the Anima crowd plugin and as much else as we have time for. We will also include a brief discussion about the recently completed graphics card benchmarks, which should be live on the website in the ARTICLES section soon. Refreshments will be provided. A special thank you to our sponsors: Autodesk for providing space for us to play. Great Eastern Tech for keeping us fed and hydrated. PNY for providing the graphics cards Rain Computers for providing the horsepower for all our demos and presentations. RSVP now and we look forward to seeing you on the 12th.
