nickdk
Is there any simple way to make glass objects appear filled with liquid? In maxwell this is very simple but I haven't figured out how to make it happen in vray/3dsmax :S
YOHKOH
Hi Nick Check this link http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/tutorials_glassinterface.htm Skip the caustics bit if you don't need it as it'll jack up your render times
kenanavci
You can just make a clone of the glass, make a cylinder that fits and "Pro Boolean" the cylinder with the cloned glass. I know it's not rocket science, but that was my way to go. By that way you will get the perfect match of contact between liquid and the glass surface. But you can always go with the spline modelling. You can draw the spline of one first, clone as copy and edit on that to keep that touching surface as tidy as possible. By that way, i'm guessing you'll get very less polygons than my way. But try my way first if you don't have a super crowded scene. If i have to give another tip, if you have a high detailed glass model, delete all the polygons that is not faced to the liquid directly and then give the shell modifier to give it thickness and then pro boolean it from the cylinder. Hope it'll help you a bit.
