Boris Horosavin
Hi, I suppose this is an issue that many of you had at some point, maybe somebody has a solution. I am making a static scenes for a game and I need to have some elements (e.g. drapes or flowers) on a separate layer so that I could animate them or remove them if necessary. The problem is that I feel I'm wasting too much time in making the basic scene, then rendering this objects separately and then composing everything in PS. So, I want to know if there is plugin or a script that can automatically render to separate layers or output files the stuff I have stored on a separate layers in my Max scene, something like render elements option or something similar. Thanks.
dande
I don't know of any script. But I split my scene up into seperate files, Xref them together into a single scene. This allows me to render everything out as one scene or render the xref seperately
Boris Horosavin
Whoa, I totally forgot about this post since there was not one reply... Thanks for the answer, man. To be honest, I have never tried out Xref because I rarely do large-scale projects. I'll look into it. The studio I'm working with has got a solid good programer and he's supposed to be developing a script that should do the trick. However, they are mental ray based and I'm not sure if it will work with Vray (or if it will work at all, for that matter). If I somehow get this script working I will share it on this post.
