Server Performance on CGarchitect

Hi all,

 

This morning we got hammered with traffic due to the increasing exposure of the 3dawards winners and we kept running out of RAM on one of the servers. This was causing the server to overload and crash due to excessive disk paging. We've re-allocated some of the RAM between our 4 Virtual Servers and it looks like we should be all good for now. We're burning through about 200GB of bandwidth a day at the moment (around 90 Mbps today) so if you see any slow downs, please let me know the exact time, date, timezone and I'll look into it. As one of my developers said this morning referencing the now famous Kirk/Scotty conversations: "I'm giving her all she's got captain!!" We're already spending $2200 a month on servers so we're trying to make due without spending any more! Duct tape and string is all that's holding things together at the moment. There is A LOT of traffic.
