Roodogg
Has anyone ever found their v-ray transparent materials (glass in this case) to not refract, no matter what they do? I have a box, with glass mat applied, affect shadows are checked - No light in room I removed the mat from it's multisubobject as I heard this can sometimes be a problem - No light in room. I selected the object, right clicked to object properties and unchecked cast shadows - No light in room. I hid the object - room illuminated. This has to be a glitch, no? Dan Norfolk
It happened to me, but I always thought its because the model was imported from another program-sketchup, revit etc. I always have to remodel glass in max to get right mat'l effect. Ismael
I do not understand at all the explanation of the problem. Is there a light inside the glass box?
Roodogg
Sorry. Should have been clearer. Basically, checking affect shadows in the vray material, nor unchecking 'cast shadows' in the object properties was allowing light to pass through the glazing in the windows. only hiding the geometry would let light pass. Really weird. I think it was something to do with the group hierarchy. It is solved now, simply by re-creating the objects and not grouping my windows..
