klausscheppe
I would like some feedback from you guys on this Dutch house rendering. I think it looks OK but it doesn't have the photoreal look yet. Me and my team are still figuring out how to achieve the photoreal look. Could anyone give their input on how to tweak this image further so it becomes more photorealistic. We used HDRI lighting and V-Ray. Thanks in advance :-)
Devin Johnston
Your problem is your materials, everything is too perfect you need to inject some randomness. You have a nice image already it just needs some variation to make it look more real.
klausscheppe
Thanks for the response. I doubt though if it is just the "perfectness" of the render but maybe also the lighting and post work. If you look at this image for example it looks more photo realistic and has more of a "Dutch street feeling". I hope you know what I mean :-D
Devin Johnston
The second image has more contrast than the first and that's playing a part in making it look more real but I still believe the first image needs material work.
klausscheppe
Thanks Devin, appreciate your input. Love your signature quote by the way :-)
bamsebaham
First render , beside the materials that needs work , looks flat , no contrast , a bit too perfect geometry , no dirt here and there , and the right side of the background seems a bit poor in details , also the sky seems to be stretched .... Second render is better , i like the lighting , brick material could use a bit more work , and i dont like the water edge , grass seems to stop in to the water , maybe some rocks could give a bit more realistic look , and a better plant distribution.. John Dollus
just a couple minutes of photoshop to balance out the levels etc could get it a little closer if you have time to re-render, adjust your exposure up a bit and adding 3d roof tiles will help Edited July 19, 2012 by John Dollus
klausscheppe
if you have time to re-render, adjust your exposure up a bit and adding 3d roof tiles will help Well the image is already handed over to the client due to the tight deadline but we would like to tweak it a bit further internally to get it better next time.
